The Beginning
Art as inheritance.
Trained in art history and curatorial practice, Parul spent a decade working with galleries and private collectors across India and Europe — learning not just how to look at art, but how to live with it. She came to understand that the most meaningful collections are not assembled. They are grown, slowly, in response to a life being lived.
The Turn
From gallery to home.
The shift came when a collector asked her not to hang a painting, but to help them understand why a room felt wrong. That question — why does this space not feel like us? — became the founding question of The Parul Dar House. Art, she realised, is only one part of the answer. Space, light, culture, and memory are the others.
The Practice
Slow, singular work.
Today, The Parul Dar House works with a small number of clients each year — families, collectors, and institutions who are ready to think carefully about how they want to live. Each commission is a long conversation, and the work that emerges from it is always, in some way, a portrait of the people who live there.
